Allen is a senior financial executive who has worked extensively with some of the world’s leading tech and communications companies. He has blue chip names like Nortel, KPMG and AOL under his belt, and has also played a major role in the successes of smaller companies including Madge Networks PLC, Norigen Communications, Nethold NV and BCS Global Conferencing. Over his career, he has raised over $3 billion in financing and completed $4 billion in acquisitions.
He is a strategic visionary with a background in growing and developing people and companies in the telecommunications industry. Voyport is an opportunity for him to leverage that global background, and apply his knowledge and expertise in executive management, corporate finance, mergers and acquisition, and business development to an exciting, untapped market.

Chief Operating Officer
Jay is all about growing profitable businesses and innovative services in a competitive market. He has been in the international telecom industry for over 25 years, where he has been instrumental in developing a number of successful new businesses. Before founding Voyport, he was part of the founding team at Primus Telecommunications Group, which he helped build from zero to $1 billion in sales in five years. He also built up businesses within the company, including the Global Service Providers Division, which grew to over $300 million, with operations in 12 countries.
“I’ve travelled a lot in my career,” he says. “Being on the road a lot and paying excessive price for using my mobile phone has always been a sore spot. The idea for Voyport came from that experience – I realized that every traveller has the same frustration, and our solution addresses that.”
Interesting fact: Jay has traveled to over 30 countries for business and pleasure and is always interested in learning about other cultures and trying new foods. Oh, and he is an avid wine collector.
Chief Financial Officer
Adam is an experienced financial executive who has focused his career on helping emerging companies succeed. He has spent 30+ years in a variety senior of financial, operational and executive roles, including VP of the Financial Advisory Service Group and VP of Audit with Price Waterhouse, CFO and SVP Equity Markets at the Toronto Stock Exchange, and CFO at Gedex, Inc. His extensive experience is rounded out with strong leadership and team-building skills, and a strong strategic background in change management, problem solving and restructuring.
Adam oversees Voyport’s financial matters including planning, budgeting, accounting, reporting, cash management and banking relationships, and has been instrumental in working with the CEO and senior management team to complete financing and initiate commercial operations.
“I joined Voyport because I believe wholeheartedly in the market opportunity and in the calibre of the management and investor/advisory team,” he says. “Our product offers a chance to help an underserved segment – business travellers – do their jobs more efficiently and affordably.”
Interesting fact: Adam is an avid ocean yacht racer, horseback rider and triathlon and half-ironman competitor.
Vice President Marketing
Kathryn knows marketing, she knows wireless – and she’s remarkably well-versed in the ins-and-outs of start-ups. In her 20+ year career, she has launched new brands, supported emerging communications companies, and worked with such game-changers as Lotus, IBM, and Bell Communications. Plus, she has worked extensively with new and early stage companies in emerging communications and technology development. Kathryn’s proven ability launching and building products and companies from the ground up makes her the ideal person to communicate Voyport’s benefits to the world.
“I love helping companies get up and running, and getting them through the challenges of establishing processes and identifying their markets,” she says. “Voyport is a fabulous opportunity to save travellers money and improve their processes. It’s also a chance to help businesses improve the quality of their relationships – building trust and loyalty is all about communication.”
Interesting fact: Marketing isn’t the only art Kathryn is good at. She is also a classically trained pianist and soprano.
Vice President Sales
Based in Philadelphia, Elizabeth Davenport brings 20+of high-tech and communications experience to the Voyport table. She started off her career with Xerox in Europe, and subsequently moved on to Global Crossing and WireOne (now BT Conferencing) in the US. Her work with these audio and videoconferencing leaders has given her a unique and in-depth understanding of how people communicate in international business.
Interesting Fact: A dedicated roller blader with multiple blading marathons under her belt, Elizabeth is also a singer in a Philadelphia community chorus.
